I am a Master of Architecture candidate, completing my final year at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
I was born and raised in South Africa, where I studied mechanical engineering at the University of Pretoria, practiced as a blacksmith for 5 years, and rowed competitively at the international level. In 2009, I decided to pursue my dream of being an architect. I stopped everything, packed up my suitcase and 24 hours later found myself in Troy, NY.
I appreciate fine craftsmanship, architecture with a social agenda, and walking the streets of unfamiliar cities. I am never without my sketchpad, bicycle and pocket knife.
